The organizations Congress of Racial Equality and the American Civil Liberties Union are spin-off organizations of FOR-USA.

We worked with each couple to assist in every detail from start to finish, creating a unique, custom experience. With a personable, honest, playful, and timeless strategy, Samantha aimed to create environments reflective of our couples.

Stronger Together Northwest Florida connected leaders of grassroots progressive groups and creators of resources for organizers with one another and provide them with support services. As a part of the Action Together Network, Stronger Together Northwest Florida members troubleshot together, shared best practices, amplified each other’s efforts, and collaborated on projects. Stronger Together Northwest Florida believes in empowering each other. They encourage the development of leadership capacities in each other rather than looking to lionize any one leader.
Dream Defenders is aimed at ending the police and prison system and is geared towards people of color who share the goal of multi-racial organizing, among other goals. They espouse to end the school-to-prison pipeline, by ending prisons, police, and redefining notions of freedom and safety.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi): The Future of Finance Specialization - Duke University - Durham, NC (completed 2022) - This course explored the origins of DeFi and took a broad historical view from the earliest barter economies, such as the first peer-to-peer exchanges of bartering, to present day. The course also looked at historical examples of money having value even though it is not officially backed. We then focused on the key infrastructure components: blockchain, cryptocurrency, smart contracts, oracles, stablecoins and decentralized applications (or dApps). This included a discussion of the mechanics of the Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains including cryptographic hashing.

It examined core concepts of social justice and practical steps for bringing people together to set goals and priorities, assess community assets and needs, develop action plans, and build support for implementation. It included information on how to form core groups, build organizational capacity, and formulate strategy for reaching out to constituents and allies

This specialization examined how policies are constructed, what values underlie them, and how they succeed or fail makes everyone more effective at work or in their civic role. HONORS learners researched a social policy issue, completed a policy analysis, and wrote and presented a professional policy memo based on their research. These research and writing skills prepared HONORS learners for masters-level study in social policy.
